A sea, Two boats and a heart of gold!

In every realm, in every kingdom… new or old!
There lives a sea, two boats and a heart of gold.

The fate of boat is set by the act of the sea.
The Heart of gold, however stands watching the journey.

With the ebbs and the flow
The heart forgets to know
That without even touching the sea
It has become a part of their destiny.

Now the sea looked at the heart of gold with a smile.
It said, just like the way you get moved by me and the boat, for a while
There are very many hearts that get moved by what you do
Without any talk, meet and sometimes just without even knowing you!

So now as you know this, make your heart always shine
Make all the journeys easier be it theirs, be it mine!

To love or not to love

So, this morning I feel an urging need to write down something here that’s about love relationships. For the past sometime, I have been seeing some of my really loving, confident and honest friends publish posts that talk depressingly about love relationships, which portray a bitter picture of being in love. To this I have a few things to say…

*Love is a mysterious thing, you will not understand the how, what and why of it most of the times!

*However mysterious it is, it is one of the simplest and subtlest of all emotions that any living being can comprehend. Therefore you will surely end up falling in love with someone, because it comes naturally to you and everyone else!

*What we forget (when in love) is that if you love someone, it never is a rule to have it reciprocated. But when we are in love, we mostly, make an effort to make the person who we are in love with fall for us!

*When in a relationship someone says an ‘I love you’…it mostly means an ‘I love you’ ONLY. Understanding hidden meanings behind the 3 golden words complicates stuff…. An ‘I Love You’ rarely depicts a commitment for marriage…but we assume!

*I have also seen quite a lot of people say… “I have wasted so many years with him/her, just to get dumped”. Guys can you please explain what happened to your head in those years that you were ‘wasting’ with them, those exact years that you now feel wasted were once termed as ‘Golden’? Please explain…not to me…to yourself!

*Wanting to get married to the person you love is very natural to most people, but when it does not materialize please understand that there are hundreds of reasons that come into picture. When you love a certain person, all his/her cute and sweet habits are for you to see only for a few hours. Marriage is about seeing each other and their behaviour almost all the wake hours of your life and that is a big game changer for the decision making! Those who cannot agree for marriage are not cowards or cheats all the time.

*It is only marriage and love relationships in which there is a scope of breach, because we as a society have created the scope. Meaning, when you are angry or not in good terms with your mother, father, sister, brother…you don’t divorce them or dump them for the fact that there is no such provision. But it’s only for marriage and similar relationships that we make brave moves like dump, ditch and divorce…Wow! the 3-Ds! Why can’t we just expand our perspective?

*I agree that many of us put in a lot of effort in their relationships to make it happier and with due respect to every such person I would like to say that we must all agree to accept that there sometimes are some higher things in life that govern our relationships (that we may not understand, due to our limited knowledge of the universe) and we ought to leave them that way!

* Making a slur of our past relationships only worries us more. We must stop feeling victimized and understand that sadness, guilt, betrayal and all such negative emotions are essential for our lives to function. For, without them, we would never be able to figure out joy, happiness and mania. Remember, for every yin there is a yang! But like we can’t party every day, we can’t sulk every day too!

**NOT-SO-DISCLAIMER: Just in case you thought I was doling out all this gyaan without any personal experience, I would like to let you know that I have had enough of what it takes to write all of this and I am still waiting to live more, learn more!

Closing with a Rumi quote: “Whatever you know or you don't...Only love is real!”

Love will stay supreme!

A 7 minute and 20 seconds long song with a vivid description of events that date back to several hundred years…this is a conversation between two brothers Ram and Bharat talking to each other about a soul-brother Hanuman.

After completing his 14-year exile when Shri Ram comes back home, he has tales to tell his younger brother Bharat of the events that occurred during his stay away from home. This song in particular describes how Shri Hanuman was available almost all the time for Shri Ram whenever he needed him.

Quoting a few incidents during this period, Ram ji explains that he can never be debt-free from the selfless support that Kapi (Hanuman) extended to him in the most scarce times. From crossing hundred miles across the ocean to bringing down the Lanka to find the whereabouts of Maa Seeta, Hanuman was there in spirit and letter of all the things that were written in the destiny of his service. The tunes of this song will only tell you of the humility that Hanuman never held, but always held it high!

There is a Hanuman in each of us and then there is a Ram also. What we need to make sure is to keep them synchronized from time to time.

In esoteric terms the Mind is Ram and the heart is Hanuman!

Jai Shri Ram! Jai Hanuman!

Frozen...The movie!

It's always a tough thing for me to get motivated to watch a movie. I am no movie buff, I am not even close to being a fan of any actor/actress in particular. It is mostly the philosophies, or songs or some times even a few one-liner dialogues that I watch in the trailers, that get me to watch a movie.
Something similar happened with the movie 'Frozen'!

Today, as I surfed through the pages of my Facebook account, I chanced upon an adorable video that has a gorgeous mother and an adorable daughter singing this lovely song..."Love is an open door"! I hadn't listened to this song until this time, and the beauty of this video got me searching for this song on the internet, so that I could hum it once I am done watching it! And here it is from the movie 'Frozen'!

I quickly check my movies folder and yes! I have Frozen lying in there!

A long and graceful film it is with some adorable songs and the opening music of the film is very engaging. What caught all my attention was the bonding between the sisters Elsa and Anna. I am so taken away with the feeling of love being universal. With variations in cultures, sisters love each other just the way sisters should and this film depicts it magnificently! One of the lines of this movie is heart touching and I would like to share that with you...

Anna(Li'l sister for her elder sister): She's my sister, She'd never hurt me!

It is with this that the entire movie began to grow on me and I was so doubly sure that sisters can never fall apart. No powers of freezing can beat the warmth of love that a sister's heart bears for another!

Absolutely a beautiful film with a graceful end depicting 'true love'!!!

Don't forget to listen to the song.. 'Love is an open door'...once more!!! :)

Priceless love for my sister!

My Choice!

My Body...My Mind...My Choice

To wear the clothes I like even as my spirit roams naked.

My Choice…

To be a size Zero or a size 15

They don't have a size for my spirit and never will.

To use cotton and silk to trap my soul is to believe you can halt the expansion of the universe

Or capture sunlight in the palm of your hand

Your Mind is caged, let it free

My body is not, let it be

My choice…

To marry or not to marry

To have sex before marriage, to have sex outside of marriage

To not have sex

My choice…

To love temporarily or to lust forever

My Choice…

To love a man or a woman or both

Remember ‘You’ are my choice

I am not your privilege

The Bindi on my forehead, the ring on my finger

Adding your surname to mine...they are just ornaments.

They can be replaced.

My love for you can not

So treasure that!

My choice…

to come home when I want.

Don't be upset when I come home at 4 am.

Don't be fooled if I come home at 6 pm

My Choice…

To have your baby or not.

To pick you from 7 billion choices or not

So don't get cocky

My pleasure might be your pain.

My songs your noise

My order your anarchy

Your sins, my virtues

My choices are like my finger prints they make me unique.

I am the tree of the forest; I am the snowflake of the snowfall

You are the snowflake!

Wake up! Get out of the shit storm

I choose to empathize. Or to be indifferent

I choose to be different.

I am the universe...infinite in every direction!

This is my choice!

This video has nothing to do with killing a man's pride.
All that has been verbalized in this video has been acted upon since times unknown, but one woman's graceful voice, her elegant demeanor, her composed expressions and her welled up eyes in the last shot...create a stir amongst people who have less or no idea what it is to be touched and what it means to go through depression due to hollowness created by another. This is not completely from woman to a man. This is from a woman to the society, which includes men and women, who can never figure out what it takes to be alive, even when there are several things in this world that you can not connect to!

Who, what and why of '’राम" : A common man’s word.

राम: One of the most powerful two-letter word, that human evolution would have ever seen.

राम is not the name of a god alone; राम is a thought, a concept, energy, a philosophy and a million things rolled into one. राम is strength and this is what makes राम a noun, a verb, an adjective and a superlative all at the same time. राम as mentioned in Hindu mythology and various scriptures that bear religious significance stands tall as a “Maryada Purushottam”… a man who personifies “the ideal man”. There are however several questions about how ideal he is now vis-à-vis the time in which he lived, there are some pointing fingers too about how he treated Maa Seeta and thus putting a question mark on his perfectionism. Just then the theory of Yin and Yang strikes my mind which describes how apparently opposite or contrary forces are actually complementary, interconnected, and interdependent in the natural world, and how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Many tangible dualities (such as light and dark, fire and water, male and female) are thought of as physical manifestations of the duality of yin and yang.) Thus every perfect being (God) has a yin and yang to his inner self and thus राम continues to help us rationalize his title of being a “Maryada Purushottam”.

As I try to know further more about the philosophy and strength of राम, I chance upon the story of the architecture of राम सेतु, an ancient engineering marvel. The bridge that starts from Dhanushkodi tip of India’s Pamban Island and ends at Sri Lanka’s Mannar Island. In some of the ancient writings, the construction of राम सेतु was attributed to the name of राम. It is said that, when the construction of the bridge got difficult due to the rocks (that were put in the sea) being submerged, one of the Vanaras who almost drowned in the water uttered the name of राम as he held the rock sturdy and it began to float just as swiftly; taking a cue from this all the other stones and rocks were put in the sea with the inscription of राम on it.
Science however has learnt to defy faith since a long-long time and for this incident, it researched enough to show that the rocks did not float because of राम, but the reason was the floating nature of the light-weight stones. And voila! Science you proved it right, but then can you now please tell me who made those floating stones and take me to the beginning of the cycle of the making of this thing?

Isn't life similar for humans as well? No matter how much science one applies in to his actions, it is the faith that plays a critical role in bringing about the desired results, because it is true…”Where logic ends faith begins”.

As for me …I have always felt deep within…”

I do not know at what age I fell in love with Krishna and every song for Krishna that I listened to, made me fonder. Though Surdas was a 15th century poet, what he wrote and what he felt about love is contemporary to human minds that are six hundred years ahead! Love is hence timeless!

The discreet description about love by bhakt Surdas says…

Love is the supreme most engagement of all times. Engagement here refers to a commitment, a passion that keeps you involved.

It is not just with Surdas or Krishna that love happens so subtly. Love is a charmer, it comes in all shapes, sizes and forms, and it is one thing that leaves no being untouched.

This bhajan describes subtly what love can do and what love has been doing in different eras of human existence. People of different times, of different social statures but without love, have never been convincing enough to a mind that is fond of love. So what if it is Shabari, the old lady living in a village during the times of Lord Ram or Vidur, a simple humble man, during Mahabharat; it is they who were able to make their existence valid with the presence of their most beloved divinities within their lifetimes.

The mystery of life and death can never ever be deciphered, but one thing that keeps the charm and engagement of life going is love and only love!

Love shall prevail beyond every hardship. May love always remain this intriguing and undefined!

Love
